
Vehicle sought in deadly hit and run crash in Tulare County
TULARE COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - A man is dead and a vehicle is being searched for following a crash in rural Tulare County late Tuesday night, the California Highway Patrol announced. According to CHP, a 911 call just after 11:30 p.m. reported a crash near Road 216 and Avenue 264, southeast of Exeter. Officers report a man was driving a Nissan Frontier westbound on Avenue 264, west of Road 216, while an unknown vehicle was traveling eastbound on the same road. For reasons yet to be determined, the Nissan entered the eastbound lane in the path of the unknown vehicle. Investigators say the Nissan struck the left side of the other vehicle. The man in the Nissan sustained fatal injuries, however, the other vehicle left the scene. Investigators are actively working to determine the identity of the vehicle that left the scene.
