Vehicle plunges into river on Highway 550
In Ouray County, Colorado, two individuals were taken to the hospital following an incident where their car ended up in the river on Thursday night. The Colorado State Patrol reported that the accident, involving a Volkswagen Newport, took place around 7 p.m. near mile marker 97 on Highway 550, approximately 3 miles north of Ouray. The highway had to be temporarily closed in both directions for about half an hour for the vehicle recovery. A minor driver was cited for the crash, and as of now, the severity of the injuries sustained by both occupants remains undisclosed.
