Vehicle hits pedestrians in L.A.'s Santee Alley; 9 injured, 3 kids among the victims
On Sunday afternoon, a minivan driver crashed into a crowd in downtown Los Angeles, causing injuries to nine people, including three children, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. The incident took place around 3:15 p.m. at Santee Alley, a well-known open-air market in the Fashion District. Among those injured, seven, including three children, were in fair condition and were taken to the hospital, while two people left against medical advice, as reported by emergency officials. Pedestrians were among those hurt, but it wasn't clear if the driver or any passengers in the van were injured. Transportation workers were at the scene to redirect traffic, blocking off the area. The reason behind the minivan crash remains unknown. Visuals from the scene depicted a silver minivan on the sidewalk that appeared to have collided with concrete barriers, with a partially collapsed yellow and red awning nearby and police tape surrounding the area.
