Vehicle crashes into Springfield State Farm in a 3-car collision

In Springfield, Illinois, a State Farm office was hit by a vehicle on Thursday afternoon during a three-vehicle accident. The incident occurred when a car traveling west on S Grand Avenue ran a red light and collided with a vehicle headed northbound on S Sixth Street. The impact caused the second vehicle to hit a third vehicle also traveling northbound on S Sixth Street. The car that ran the red light then crashed into the Ron Mays - State Farm Insurance Agent office at the corner of Grand and Sixth, causing a window to break and pieces of concrete to fall. Three individuals involved in the crash sustained non-serious injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital by an ambulance. The area is currently active, with the vehicle being removed from the building around 2:40 p.m. This marks the third recent incident of a vehicle colliding with a building in Springfield, following accidents at a Baskin-Robbins on Tuesday and Springfield's Ice Deli on Wednesday.
