Vehicle collides with gas pump at Johnston station
An inquiry is being conducted following a car collision with a fuel pump at a Johnston gas station on Friday afternoon. Authorities were alerted to the incident at RoadRunners on Hartford Avenue just before 2 p.m. when a vehicle apparently crashed in the parking area. According to police, the driver was trying to adjust the vehicle at the fuel pump when the accident occurred. Investigators suspect that the driver unintentionally pressed the accelerator, leading the fuel pump to become dislodged and ignite. Firefighters swiftly extinguished the flames.
