Vance grieves the loss of son of Mission BBQ co-founder in military helicopter crash

Vice President JD Vance expressed his sorrow over the tragic news that one of the soldiers killed in a recent military helicopter crash was the son of Mission BBQ co-founder Bill Kraus. Vance conveyed his condolences to the Kraus family and all the soldiers who lost their lives in a post on X. The Mission BBQ chain, founded by Bill Kraus and Steve Newton, is known for honoring American service members and first responders with locations in 23 states. The recent helicopter crash claimed the lives of four service members during routine flight training on Sept. 17. The fallen soldiers were identified as Army Chief Warrant Officer Three Andrew Kraus, Army Chief Warrant Officer Three Andrew Cully, Army Sgt. Donavon Scott, and U.S. Army Sgt. Jadalyn Good. Colonel Stephen Smith, commander of the regiment to which the soldiers belonged, described them as exceptional warriors who embodied dedication and excellence. Their sacrifice in service to the nation will always be remembered, he said.
