Van Meter school construction worker fatally falls
A tragic incident occurred on Tuesday at the construction site of the Van Meter school district, resulting in the death of a construction worker. The worker, a 33-year-old man, fell from the roof of the new building under construction, approximately 30 feet high. Despite the efforts of a school resource officer who provided CPR until medics arrived, the man succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The incident is currently being investigated, and authorities, including the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, will be notified. The individual's identity has not been disclosed as of now. Van Meter Police Chief Michael Brown conveyed heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, co-workers, and all affected by this unfortunate event.
