US Army confirms soldier's death in overseas training accident
A soldier from the U.S. Army's 101st Airborne Division lost his life during a training incident in Hungary this week. Sgt. Aaron Cox, 24, of Mabank, Texas, passed away following a crash while operating a vehicle in preparation for the Saber Guardian 25 exercise near Camp Croft. Sgt. Cox, an infantryman with the "Strike" 2nd Mobile Brigade Combat Team, was described as a dedicated soldier and leader. The division's commander, Col. Duke Reim, expressed sorrow over the loss and extended thanks to Hungarian allies for their assistance. Sgt. Cox was a recent Army recruit, known for his achievements and awards, including the Air Assault Badge and the Expert Infantryman Badge. An investigation is ongoing into the tragic incident. This unfortunate event brings to mind a similar incident earlier this year, where four soldiers lost their lives in Lithuania.
