UPS plane crashes close to airport in Louisville, Kentucky, according to officials.

Local authorities have confirmed that there were injuries resulting from a UPS plane crash that occurred soon after takeoff near the Louisville International Airport. Emergency crews are currently at the scene which has been described as active with "fire and debris." Officials have cautioned residents to avoid the Fern Valley and Grade Lane intersection near the south side of the airport, the primary hub for UPS. Initially, a shelter-in-place order was issued for areas north of the airport extending up to the Ohio River. A total of three UPS crew members were on board the aircraft, and UPS has acknowledged the incident without providing further details. Flights to and from the Louisville airport have been halted due to the crash, and the airfield is temporarily closed. The UPS flight was bound for Daniel K. Inouye International Airport in Honolulu, Hawaii, when it crashed shortly after takeoff. As the situation unfolds, Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear and Senator Rand Paul have shared their concerns and asked for prayers for those affected.
