
Update: Two fatalities in three-car accident on I-10 near Grant Road exit
UPDATE 10 a.m. (6/2): There have been two confirmed fatalities in the recent overnight accident on Interstate 10 in Arizona. The Arizona Department of Public Safety reported that a vehicle was involved in a minor crash and partially obstructed the No. 1 lane. Another vehicle stopped on the median shoulder to offer assistance, and subsequently, a commercial vehicle collided with the first vehicle before hitting the assisting vehicle. Tragically, both passengers in the assisting vehicle died from their injuries at the scene. UPDATE 6:30 a.m. (6/2): The westbound lanes of I-10 at Speedway have reopened. ADOT confirmed fatalities but did not provide further information. A multiple-vehicle collision on I-10 westbound at Grant has necessitated a detour for drivers, with the closure now extending to Speedway Boulevard. Westbound traffic is being directed to exit at Speedway for an alternative route. At this time, there is no specified timeline for the highway's reopening or details on injuries.
