Update: 8/6/2025 6:40 p.m. CHAMPAIGN COUNTY, Ill. - The Champaign County Coroner, Laurie Brauer, has identified the motorcyclist who tragically passed away as a result of a two-vehicle collision that occurred in Champaign County on Tuesday. The deceased has been identified as 35-year-old Andrew L. Ward from Allerton. The accident took place around 1600 E and Old Church Road near Urbana, with Ward being pronounced dead at 5:59 p.m. on the same day, following injuries sustained in the crash. An autopsy was conducted on August 6. The Illinois State Police and the Champaign County Coroner’s Office are currently carrying out an investigation into the incident. Update: 8:30 p.m. CHAMPAIGN COUNTY, Ill. - Following a two-vehicle crash in Champaign County on Tuesday, a motorcyclist was declared deceased at the scene. The crash took place on US 130 northbound at Old Church Road shortly before 5:30 p.m. involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck. As of now, there is no update on the condition of the pickup truck driver. Traffic diversions are in place at IL 130/1100N and IL 130/1300N, with officials actively engaged in examining the circumstances of the collision.
