Update: 8/6/2025 6:40 p.m. CHAMPAIGN COUNTY, Ill. - The Champaign County Coroner, Laurie Brauer, has identified the motorcyclist who tragically passed away as a result of a two-vehicle collision that occurred in Champaign County on Tuesday. The deceased has been identified as 35-year-old Andrew L. Ward from Allerton. The accident took place around 1600 E and Old Church Road near Urbana, with Ward being pronounced dead at 5:59 p.m. on the same day, following injuries sustained in the crash. An autopsy was conducted on August 6. The Illinois State Police and the Champaign County Coroner’s Office are currently carrying out an investigation into the incident.
