Update on State Road 46 triple fatality accident
In Terre Haute, Indiana, the Vigo County Sheriff's Office has provided more information regarding the tragic accident that took place on Monday at the intersection of State Road 46 and Lama Road. According to a social media post by the Sheriff's Office, deputies, along with Riley Fire Rescue and Trans-care Ambulance, swiftly responded to a car collision that occurred at approximately 8:05 a.m. Responding officers found two SUVs with significant front-end damage at the scene. Tragically, one driver and one passenger from one of the vehicles lost their lives, while an adult passenger survived and was hospitalized for undisclosed injuries. The driver of the second SUV also perished in the crash, and a juvenile passenger from that vehicle survived with injuries and was also transported to the hospital. Initial investigations by the Vigo County Fatal Crash Team revealed that the collision was a head-on impact resulting from one of the vehicles crossing the center line. Further details are being gathered by the team, and updates will be provided as they become available. The names of the deceased individuals will be disclosed once their families have been notified.
