Update on Second Victim in Malcolm-Jamal Warner's Drowning Accident

According to a report by Us Weekly, the second individual involved in the drowning incident with Malcolm-Jamal Warner has been discharged from the hospital and is in stable condition. Elberth León, head of the Tourist Police for Costa Rica’s Atlantic, mentioned that the patient, who had shown signs of respiratory distress after ingesting water while attempting a rescue, was mainly fatigued from the ordeal with the current. The Hone Creek Clinic, where the man was taken after he was rescued by his companion, confirmed he was treated for the distress, deemed stable, and discharged without any complications. In a tragic turn of events on July 20, Warner lost his life during a vacation in Costa Rica due to accidental drowning. León stated that Warner was trying to save his daughter when both were swept away by a rip current. The Costa Rican National Police reported that after an autopsy, Warner's cause of death was determined as "asphyxia due to submersion" and ruled accidental. Following the incident, a second person involved was in critical condition and was taken to a local clinic for treatment. Emergency services were alerted, and it was confirmed that Warner and this individual were part of the same incident. Lifeguard instructor Mike Geist shared an account that on July 22 a doctor and a boogie boarder bravely entered the water to assist in the search for Warner. Unfortunately, despite prompt arrival of ambulances and resuscitation efforts, Warner did not survive the incident.
