Update on Maynardville Highway crash

A recent crash report in Knoxville, Tennessee provided updates on the tragic collision that occurred on Maynardville Highway, resulting in one fatality and three injuries. The deceased individual has been identified as Avery LeRue Eskridge, a 51-year-old resident of Knoxville. According to witnesses interviewed by a deputy, Eskridge's 2004 Porsche SUV was seen speeding north on Maynardville Pike, overtaking other vehicles in the turn lane and swerving into different lanes before colliding. The collision involved a Ford traveling south, which attempted to evade the SUV, leading to a head-on crash. Eskridge's vehicle then struck a Chevrolet Cavalier also traveling south, causing it to flip over; Eskridge was partially ejected and was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. Three individuals were hospitalized with injuries classified as "suspected serious injury." A statement from a Rural Metro spokesperson highlighted the role of speed in the accident. The report mentioned that the incident is still being investigated, awaiting findings from the Knox County Medical Examiner's Office.
