Update on deadly California Cybertruck accident, fire disclosed
Minutes before a Tesla Cybertruck carrying college students crashed and caught fire in Piedmont, the vehicle's camera captured an image showing one of the passengers holding a "half-gallon" bottle containing a clear liquid, according to a California Highway Patrol investigation report released in response to a public records request. The tragic incident on November 27, 2024, resulted in the deaths of 19-year-old Soren Dixon, 20-year-old Jack Nelson, and 19-year-old Krysta Tsukahara from smoke inhalation and severe burns. The driver, Dixon, was found to be under the influence of alcohol and drugs, with a Blood Alcohol Concentration of 0.195. Another passenger, 20-year-old Jordan Miller, managed to survive with the help of a witness who broke a window and pulled him out. The investigation revealed that the high speeds, as well as alcohol and drug impairment, led to the crash. Tsukahara's family has since filed a wrongful death lawsuit seeking more information about the tragic incident.
