Update on deadly accident closing part of I-15 near northeast valley

Officials have released new information regarding a tragic accident that resulted in the closure of a section of a major highway for several hours. In the early morning of July 31, the Nevada Highway Patrol was called to a collision on Interstate 15 at mile marker 106 in the southbound lane, located approximately 11 miles south of Mesquite. According to reports, a 2022 Kia Forte collided with a 2024 Isuzu construction truck that was parked in a construction zone on the left shoulder with its warning lights and direction board activated. Sadly, the driver of the Kia, William Rance Bill, 22, from St. George, UT, was fatally injured in the crash. Another individual in the Kia was transported to a local hospital with unspecified injuries. This incident is the 37th fatal accident and 38th fatality investigated by the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol Southern Command this year.
