UPDATE: All lanes of Highway 21 East are now back open after a fatal crash shut down the highway on Friday afternoon in Nacogdoches, according to Nacogdoches Police Department. NACOGDOCHES, Texas (KETK)-- All lanes on Highway 21 East are closed after a fatal crash on Friday afternoon in Nacogdoches, officials said. According to Nacogdoches Police Department, first responders are currently investigating a fatal auto accident on Highway 21 East (4800 E. Main St.) near city limits. Officials said all lanes of Highway 21 East are closed and all motorists are asked to avoid the area. "If travel is necessary, westbound motorists will be directed to CR 503 (Community Grocery Road) or CR 303 (Justice Road)," Nacogdoches PD said. "Eastbound motorists will be turned around to go back towards Nacogdoches." The department said more information will be released as it becomes available.
