The deceased has been identified as Nathaniel Haddix, a 26-year-old resident from Fortson, Georgia. Haddix was involved in a single-vehicle motorcycle accident on US Highway 80 East in Phenix City and was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident is currently being investigated. Another update at 2:34 p.m. confirmed by Coroner Arthur Sumbry reports a single fatality in a crash on US 80, with a male pronounced dead at the scene on Monday morning. Emergency personnel from Phenix City are responding to the scene of the crash near the junction of Summerville Road and US 280 Eastbound. The Russell County coroner is present at the crash site, and authorities have opened only one lane for traffic at this time. Police advise drivers to avoid the area, as investigations into the crash are ongoing.
