UPDATE: 1 fatality in aircraft accident
A tragic incident occurred near Lancaster Airport on Sunday morning as a small plane crashed shortly after takeoff, resulting in the pilot's death. The crash site is located on Kissel Hill Road just outside the airport, and authorities have closed off the area to traffic. The Lancaster County Coroner's Office has identified the pilot but is withholding the name pending notification of the family. Local police shared information about the crash, and the FAA and NTSB will conduct an investigation into the incident. Thankfully, no injuries were reported on the ground. Additionally, earlier in the week, an emergency landing involving a different plane occurred at the same airport, but with no injuries reported.
