U-Haul driver injures 4 and damages cars and sidewalk structures in Midtown crash

Earlier today, an 86-year-old U-Haul driver caused injury to four individuals when the driver rear-ended a yellow taxi cab at a stop sign on East 57th Street and Madison Avenue in Midtown. The U-Haul then hit a Toyota sedan, before driving onto the sidewalk and colliding with various structures. Among those injured were the U-Haul driver, the Toyota sedan passenger, the taxi cab driver, and a female pedestrian, all sent to the hospital for treatment. The investigation is ongoing, and the identities of those involved remain unknown. In a separate incident in Midtown Manhattan, a box truck struck a parked van, causing it to hit pedestrians on the sidewalk. Nine individuals sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to nearby hospitals for evaluation.
