Two teenagers hurt in scooter crash in Springfield, PA, per authorities
Two teenagers, both 14 years old, were hurt, one critically, when their electric scooter collided with a pickup truck in Springfield, Pennsylvania. The incident occurred on Tuesday night before 9 p.m. on North Bishop Avenue. One boy suffered a broken arm, while the other is in critical condition. They were riding the scooter together on Bishop Avenue when they crashed into the truck. They were taken to the hospital, and the driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene and called 911. This incident comes two months after a similar accident in Aston Township, where a 12-year-old girl died in an electric scooter crash. Isabella Jones, 11, who was injured in that incident, has been released from the hospital. State Sen. Tim Kearney plans to introduce Abby's Law to establish safety rules for electric scooters after this tragedy. The Springfield crash is currently being investigated.
