Two people taken to hospital following Elk County side-by-side collision

Two individuals were seriously injured and hospitalized after an off-road accident involving a side-by-side vehicle in Jay Township, Elk County, Pennsylvania. The incident took place at the intersection of Plum Street and River Road on Thursday, July 17, when the driver of a Kawasaki Ridge lost control while trying to avoid a collision with another vehicle. The driver, a 37-year-old man, and a 33-year-old female passenger were both ejected from the vehicle as neither was wearing a seat belt. Emergency services responded to the scene, and the driver and passenger were taken to Penn Highlands DuBois for treatment of suspected serious injuries.Updates on their conditions are pending. The Pennsylvania State Police received assistance from several local emergency response units during the incident.
