Two people injured in three-vehicle collision in Westmoreland

Two individuals were taken to the hospital after a collision involving three cars in Westmoreland, as reported by the Oneida County Sheriffs. The incident occurred at the intersection of Cooper Street and Creaser Road on Tuesday morning. Karen Wands, driving southbound on Creaser Road, failed to stop at a stop sign and entered the intersection, colliding with Paul Ford's car. This caused Wands' car to veer into the northbound lane, where it hit another car driven by Wendy Hutchings. Wands' vehicle then hit a series of trees before coming to a stop on the eastern shoulder, while Hutchings' car stopped in the middle of the road and Ford's vehicle ended up in a front yard. Wands and Hutchings were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while Ford declined further assistance. Wands was cited for not yielding the right-of-way at a stop sign. Various authorities, including the Oneida County Sheriffs Office's ID Unit, New York State Police, Westmoreland Fire Department, and AmCare Ambulance of Rome, assisted at the scene.
