Two people hurt in small plane crash at Johnson County airport

Two individuals were hospitalized after an airplane crashed at New Century Airport in Johnson County, Kansas, on Monday afternoon. The incident occurred just before 1:30 p.m. A light twin-engine aircraft carrying two people landed on the roof of a hangar at New Century AirCenter, according to the sheriff's office. The occupants of the plane sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital. Thankfully, both individuals were able to safely exit the aircraft on their own and receive medical attention. The crash was attributed to a mechanical issue that caused the left engine to fail, resulting in the pilot losing control. Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported among those present at the scene. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the crash.
