Two people hurt in Oakfield crash
Two people were hurt in a two-vehicle collision that took place early Saturday evening in the Town of Oakfield, according to a statement from the Genesee County Sheriff's Office. The incident was reported at 6:19 p.m. at the crossroads of State Route 262 and Fisher Road. Chad Bruning, 34, from Byron, was driving a Ford pickup truck west on State Route 262 when Wesley Ditton, 47, from Apalachin, driving a Hyundai, allegedly failed to yield the right of way and entered the intersection. The Ford pickup truck collided with the Hyundai on the driver's side, causing both vehicles to veer off the south side of State Route 262. Ditton had to be removed from his vehicle and was airlifted via Mercy Flight for serious injuries. Bruning, who sustained minor injuries, was released at the scene. The cause of the crash is still being investigated.
