Two injured in serious morning accident near Jasper

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a crash occurred at the intersection of Route T and Route K, located four miles east of Jasper, at around 7:45 a.m. on Wednesday. The crash was caused by a Dodge Ram, driven by a 27-year-old man from Mt. Vernon, failing to yield at a stop sign and colliding with an eastbound Toyota passenger car driven by a 45-year-old man from Jasper. Both vehicles went off the road, with the car flipping over and the pickup truck hitting a utility pole. The driver of the car sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to a hospital in Springfield, while the driver of the Ram suffered only minor injuries and was transported to a hospital in Joplin by private vehicle.
