Two-hour closure follows deadly accident on I-45 in Huntsville
On Sunday at approximately 6 p.m., an incident occurred on Interstate 45 in Huntsville, leading to the closure of the highway for more than two hours. Three vehicles were involved in the accident: a Kia car, a Chevrolet 2500 pickup, and an 18-wheeler. It was reported that the 18-wheeler collided with the back of the Kia, which then struck the trailer of the Chevy, causing the Kia to overturn. Emergency responders from Huntsville including police and firefighters arrived at the scene. Tragically, one person lost their life after being extricated from a vehicle. The Department of Public Safety is currently conducting an investigation into the crash.
