Two from Reynoldsburg injured in southwest Ohio fatal crash

XENIA, Ohio (WCMH) — Two Reynoldsburg adults were among four people involved in a two-vehicle crash that turned fatal in southwest Ohio Sunday evening. According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, troopers are investigating a crash in Greene County, near the intersection of U.S. Route 42 and Hickman Road in Xenia Township’s town of Wilberforce. The OSHP reports that a 2004 Honda Accord was traveling southwest on U.S. 42 at about 7:50 p.m. while at the same time, a 2022 Honda Civic was traveling northeast. The Civic was attempting to turn left onto Hickman Rd. when it was struck by the Accord. Both vehicles were sent off the road and into a ditch, southwest of the intersection. The driver of the Civic, 49-year-old Melissa Fields, of Wilmington, was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries and was later pronounced dead. Three crash victims from the Accord, including two from Reynoldsburg, ages 19 and 20, all sustained minor injuries and are expected to survive. The crash remains under investigation by the OSHP Xenia Post, with assistance from the Greene County Sheriff’s Office.
