Two from NH suffer life-threatening injuries in Rollinsford crash, police say
Two New Hampshire residents suffered life-threatening injuries in a crash that happened on Route 4 in Rollinsford, according to police.The Rollinsford Police Department said officers and members of the Rollinsford Fire Department and Dover Fire and Rescue Department responded to the two-vehicle crash on Portland Avenue (Route 4) shortly after 1:35 p.m. Wednesday.Police said passersby had stopped to help the people involved in the crash before first responders arrived at the scene.Investigators determined that a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 that was traveling west on Portland Avenue crossed the center line and struck a 2003 Chevrolet Impala that was on the eastbound side of the roadway. Police said the pickup truck and the car both sustained heavy damage and came to a rest in a ditch on the south side of the road.The driver of the Silverado, a 61-year-old man from Concord, was freed from the truck by firefighters. The man and the driver of the Impala, a 20-year-old Rollinsford resident, were transported to area hospitals with life-threatening injuries. Police did not share an update on the drivers' conditions Thursday morning, when officials released details about the crash.Portland Avenue was closed between the intersection of General Sullivan Way and the intersection of Roberts Road/Baer Road for several hours to allow for investigation and cleanup efforts.No charges have been filed at this time, but police said all aspects of the crash remain under investigation.The Rollinsford Police Department encouraged witnesses or anyone who has information about the crash to contact Lt.
