Two fatalities in West Virginia due to head-on crash

A tragic accident occurred on Route 7 near Dump Hill in Hundred, W.Va., resulting in the deaths of two individuals and injuries to two others. The collision, in which one vehicle veered across the center line and struck another head-on, prompted a swift response from emergency crews from multiple agencies across West Virginia and Pennsylvania. While the driver of the first vehicle passed away at the scene, a passenger from the second vehicle succumbed while en route to Ruby Memorial Hospital. The injured individuals from the second vehicle are receiving treatment for non-life-threatening injuries. Various emergency response teams, including Hundred EMS, fire departments, and law enforcement agencies, collaborated in the aftermath of the incident, with Route 7 temporarily closed for investigation and later reopened. Mayor Chip Goff expressed sympathy to the victims' families and commended the rapid and well-coordinated efforts of the responders. The names of those involved have not been disclosed pending family notification, and the investigation is ongoing under the leadership of the Wetzel County Sheriff's Office.
