Two fatalities in Perry County car accident; victim named
A fatal two-vehicle collision in Perry County last night has tragically resulted in the loss of two individuals. State Police in Newport responded to the incident on July 5 around 8:15 p.m. at Route 34 (Spring Road) between Old Mill Road and Landisburg Road in Carroll Township. The crash involved an SUV and a truck, with the truck crossing into oncoming traffic and colliding head-on with the SUV. Regrettably, one occupant of the SUV was pronounced deceased at the scene, while the truck driver, William Richey Jr. from Shermans Dale, Pa., passed away later at Penn State Medical Center. Route 34 was shut down until approximately 12:30 a.m. on July 6.
