Two fatalities in Dartmouth plane crash on I-195
A small aircraft crashed on the median of Interstate 195 in Dartmouth, Massachusetts, on Monday morning, resulting in the deaths of two individuals and a fire. The incident occurred around 8 a.m., and it appears the plane may have been attempting to land at New Bedford Regional Airport. There is video footage showing the plane ablaze on the highway median, and while it is unclear if any vehicles were involved, a damaged car is visible nearby. Apart from the passengers on the plane, one person on the ground sustained injuries and was transported to St. Luke's Hospital, with their identity yet to be disclosed. The aircraft involved is registered as a Socata TBM 700 owned by Easton Air, LLC from Middletown, Rhode Island. Authorities stated the pilot did not file a flight plan or provide passenger details to the airport. Due to the crash, Interstate 195 is shut down in both directions, and motorists are urged to find alternate routes. The incident occurred during stormy weather conditions, and the Federal Aviation Administration is expected to lead the investigation.
