
Two drivers injured in car crash in the Chicago area, officials report
A collision involving two cars occurred in McHenry County on Tuesday morning, resulting in injuries to both drivers, one of whom was critically injured. The accident took place at the intersection of North Union Road and Route 176. Emergency responders from the Marengo Fire & Rescue District were on the scene and found both vehicles in a ditch. One driver was discovered unconscious and trapped in their pickup truck and required an hour to be extricated by crews. He was airlifted to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville with severe injuries. The driver of the other vehicle, a black SUV, sustained moderate injuries and was transported by ambulance to Northwestern Medicine Huntley Hospital for treatment. The cause of the crash is under investigation by the McHenry County Sheriff's Office.
