In Anderson, Indiana, a serious car accident involving a concrete mixer truck resulted in two individuals being hospitalized on Wednesday morning. The incident occurred near the intersection of N. State Road 9 and Scatterfield Road. Emergency services were contacted around 9:30 a.m. following reports of the accident. The initial investigation indicates that a red 2004 Chevy Monte Carlo was traveling south on SR9 when it veered into a guardrail on the west side, crossed all southbound lanes, struck a median, and then launched into the air before landing in the northbound lanes where it collided with the concrete truck. The 28-year-old driver of the Monte Carlo was taken to Community Hospital in Anderson for treatment of severe internal injuries, while the 62-year-old concrete truck driver was also hospitalized but has since been discharged. The Madison County Sheriff's Department responded to the scene and is currently conducting an investigation. Further updates on the situation will be provided as more information becomes available.
