Two deadly Fayetteville crashes in a day: Police investigate second separate traffic fatality

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — A second deadly crash in one day has taken another life in Fayetteville, this one late Wednesday morning, police said. According to the Fayetteville Police Department, officers were called to a motor vehicle crash around 10:20 a.m. near the intersection of North McPherson Church Road and Sycamore Dairy Road. Upon arrival, officers said the first responders found the driver of one of the vehicles dead at the scene. Police said the identity of the deceased driver is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. This is the second fatal crash of the morning for Fayetteville on Wednesday, with one woman dying as a result of a single-vehicle rollover crash on Cedar Creek Road near Grove Street. Officers are still actively investigating the crashes. If anyone has information about these crashes, officials urge people to contact Fayetteville Police Officer J. Deal at 910-584-3692.
