TROY, Texas (FOX 44) - Two adults are dead and a juvenile is injured after a traffic accident in Troy. According to Police Chief Jeremy Gooch, officers were dispatched to a major traffic accident on North Interstate 35 at approximately 8:15 a.m. Saturday. The accident occurred at the ramp at Exit #311. A Dodge Ram Pickup was stopped northbound on the improved shoulder of the Interstate, attempting to change a flat tire. Both occupants of the Dodge Ram were at the back of the vehicle, removing the spare tire from underneath. A juvenile was standing in the grass median while the adults worked on the vehicle. Chief Gooch says a Kia Optima left the main lanes of traffic and entered the improved shoulder, colliding into the back of the Dodge Ram pickup. Both adults were pronounced dead at the scene by Bell County Precinct 3 Justice of the Peace Fisher. The adults have been identified as 35-year-old Hector Bococ and 34-year-old Maria Maquin, of Cedar Park. The juvenile was transported to the hospital with minor injuries and reunited with family. Chief Gooch says Troy Police was assisted by Temple Police, the Texas Department of Public Safety, Troy Volunteer Fire Department, 121 Towing, Ward’s Wrecker, and Temple EMS. This investigation is ongoing.
