Two dead in multi-vehicle crash on Long Island: NYSP
HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. (PIX11) -- Two people died Sunday night in a fatal multi-vehicle crash on the Southern State Parkway, according to the New York State Police. The crash happened at around 10:15 p.m. on the eastbound lanes near Exit 17 North. Police say a 2020 black Cadillac Escalade heading west sideswiped a gray BMW traveling in the left lane before crossing the center median and hitting multiple vehicles, including a 2016 black Toyota Highlander head-on. A total of six vehicles and ten individuals were involved in the collision. The two passengers of the Toyota Highlander, identified as Donald Maxwell, 82, and Liscent B. Mawxwell, 88, died. Several others were taken to a local hospital for treatment. Police say one suffered critical injuries. The driver of the Cadillac Escalade, Diana Kutateladze, 36, of Oceanside, was arrested.
