Two dead in fiery rollover crash on Camden Road in Fayetteville, troopers say
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — Emergency crews are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding a deadly fiery crash in south Fayetteville, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol. Troopers said they were called to a motor vehicle crash just before 1 a.m. Thursday on Camden Road near Oakland Avenue. Upon arrival, they found that an SUV and an Audi had collided with the SUV upside down and the Audi completely burned. Emergency crews told CBS 17 at the scene that two women died as a result of this crash, and State Highway Patrol said five other people were injured and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Troopers said speed was a factor in this crash, where the Audi went over the median, hit a sign then hit the SUV. The Audi then caught fire, killing a female passenger and hospitalizing the driver. A woman in the SUV died and 4 other people inside were injured. According to troopers, the scene cleared and Camden Road opened around 2 a.m.
