Two dead after Bracken County fatal crash
Two people are dead, and one is hospitalized after a crash in Bracken County, according to a release from Kentucky State Police Post 6.On Saturday, KSP Post 6 responded to a collision on KY 9 at Dutch Ridge Road. The investigation into the crash showed that a 2004 Ford SUV, driven by Brandon Barrett of Ohio, was traveling west on KY 9 when it attempted to pass on a double-yellow line.The SUV then struck a 2024 Kia head-on. The driver, Tyler Smith, and the front-seat passenger, Emily Smith, were pronounced deceased at the scene.Barrett was transported to the UK Medical Center for injuries.The crash remains under investigation by the KSP Collision Reconstructionist.
