Two-Car Crash on U.S. Highway 395 (April 11).

A crash involving two vehicles on U.S. Highway 395 near Mono City and Mono Lake caused traffic disruptions on Friday afternoon, resulting in one passenger sustaining serious injuries. The accident, which took place at 1:53 p.m. on April 11th, involved a gray Jeep and a gray minivan according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). The vehicles came to a stop on opposite sides of the highway with the Jeep missing its left-side wheel assembly on the northbound shoulder and the minivan on the southbound shoulder. Emergency crews arrived at the scene quickly after several motorists stopped to help, with one passenger reporting significant lower body pain. The injured individual was treated by responders, while a woman from one of the vehicles was found lying on her back. CHP units and emergency services responded promptly, and a tow truck from Lee Vining was en route with an estimated arrival time of five minutes. Traffic was temporarily stopped, and debris on both lanes was cleared shortly thereafter. The cause of the collision is currently being investigated.
