Two arrested following police pursuit resulting in multiple car collision in Aurora.

Two individuals are currently under arrest following a police pursuit that culminated in a collision just south of the Gateway-Green Valley Ranch neighborhood in Aurora. The Aurora Police Department discovered a stolen Ford Expedition and initiated a chase, which led to a crash on Interstate 70 near E-470. The female passenger was apprehended at the scene, while the male driver attempted to flee, allegedly even trying to carjack a vehicle. After a series of events, including another collision involving multiple vehicles on Tower Road, the suspect was finally captured. Both suspects were injured and taken to the hospital. Thankfully, no one else was harmed during the incident. The road closures were in effect but have since been reopened. One of the individuals involved in the crash, Brenton Buchanan, shared his experience with FOX31. Following the incident, an individual named Rodolfo Castillo Najera was arrested on various charges. The pursuit was carried out under Aurora's new policy, where safety is a top priority, and pursuits can be terminated if deemed unsafe. Since the implementation of this policy, there have been 120 pursuits, resulting in multiple arrests.
