Truck collides with Pembroke home, inquiry initiated

An investigation is currently being conducted following an incident where a truck crashed into a residence in Pembroke early on Sunday morning, as reported by the Pembroke Fire Department. Authorities from Pembroke police and fire departments promptly arrived at the scene on Dwelley Street around 3:30 a.m. and discovered a black Dodge pickup truck had collided with the home's garage, resulting in significant damage. Homeowner Robert Sideropolous recounted his experience to WCVB's Ted Wayman, stating he was awakened by a loud noise and rushed outside to find the pickup truck lodged in the garage. Sideropolous encountered a distressed young man at the scene and ensured his well-being before contacting emergency services. The driver, whose identity remains undisclosed, sustained minor injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment. Pembroke police indicated that the driver will be charged with offenses including speeding, crossing marked lanes, and negligence. Sideropolous, who spent a majority of the day speaking with insurance agents, hopes this incident serves as a cautionary tale to other drivers. While the exact cause of the crash is still unknown, he emphasized the importance of being vigilant on the roads, suggesting that if a driver feels drowsy, it is essential to pull over.
