Truck carrying watermelons catches fire on I-70, leads to significant traffic delay in Frederick County

In Frederick County, Maryland, a traffic incident caused significant delays on Interstate 70 on Friday due to watermelons spilling onto the road. A tractor-trailer carrying 40,000 pounds of watermelons caught fire near mile marker 47, leading to lane closures and traffic congestion. Emergency crews worked to clear the area as a separate crash involving a tractor-trailer and a dump truck occurred nearby. Thankfully, there were no injuries reported in either incident. Lanes on I-70 were reopened by midday after the cleanup efforts. Photos posted by the Frederick County fire department on social media showed the truck engulfed in flames and charred following the fire.
