Troy woman admits guilt in deadly Selkirk collision

A woman from Troy has confessed to causing a fatality in a 2024 car crash in Selkirk. Jacklyn Parker, 25, has pleaded guilty to criminally negligent homicide as reported by the Albany County District Attorney's Office. The incident occurred when Parker's vehicle collided with another on River Road, resulting in the death of Colleen Selkirk, 60, from Hannacroix. Parker, who had a history of epileptic seizures, had failed to take her prescribed medication for over a week and experienced a seizure while driving. Originally charged with driving under the influence of drugs, Parker now faces a sentence of one to three years in prison. She is set to be sentenced on September 23.
