
Troopers: 1 dead after car veers off road overnight in Tate Township
A person has died in a single-vehicle crash overnight in Tate Township, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.Troopers say it happened on Starling Road, near Parsons Road, around 12:37 a.m. Thursday. Officials say a 2007 Mazda 3, operated by 42-year-old Shawn Spencer of Bethel, was traveling northeast on Starling Road when it failed to come around a curve and traveled off of the left side of the roadway.Authorities say the car hit a tree, a traffic sign and another tree before coming to a final rest.Spencer was flown to UC Medical Center but died there due to the injuries he sustained, troopers say.Officials say he was wearing a seatbelt when the crash happened.OSP says they were assisted at the scene by the Clermont County Sheriff's Department, Bethel Tate Fire and EMS, Med Flight and Kings Kars Towing.Troopers say the crash remains under investigation. They did not say if speed or alcohol are being considered as factors.
