
Trooper dies in fiery crash on way to assist San Jacinto County responders
A trooper from the Texas Department of Public Safety tragically lost their life in a fatal crash on Monday night while responding to a call in San Jacinto County. The trooper was en route to provide assistance to local law enforcement units and was driving along FM 945 off FM 2025. The vehicle left the roadway, crashed into a pine tree, and caught fire after crossing the East Fork of the San Jacinto River bridge. The incident was reported just before 9 p.m., with firefighters finding the vehicle fully engulfed in flames upon arrival at the scene. The crash occurred in close proximity to another deadly crash site. The trooper's name has not been disclosed yet. Montgomery County Sheriff Wesley Doolittle expressed his sadness over the loss, emphasizing the trooper's service and sacrifice.
