Trinity High School community mourns classmate killed in crash

The Trinity High School community is dealing with the death of a student who was killed in a single-car crash.Lauren Souza, 16, was killed early Sunday morning in a crash on Back River Road.Police said her car hit something and rolled off the road. Lauren's grandmother said she was driving home after having fun with friends.Trinity High School canceled classes Monday, but hundreds of students and faculty members went to the school for a Mass.>> Download the free WMUR app to get updates on the go: Apple | Google Play <<Lauren's grandmother and school president Nathan Stanton described the junior as a wonderful person who was a great student, a talented athlete and loved by her classmates. Stanton said school community members are doing everything they can to support one another as they try to process the loss."She was No. 1 in her class as a junior," Stanton said. "She just got voted as the vice president for the National Honor Society for next school year. She was an all-around unbelievable human being that just brought so much light to us here inside and outside of the classroom."Stanton said there will be counselors at the school, as well as therapy dogs. A delayed opening and early dismissal are planned for Tuesday.
