Tragic St. Paul scooter accident claims life of 14-year-old boy, leaves 13-year-old seriously hurt
The St. Paul Police Department reported that a tragic accident occurred on Tuesday morning when a driver of a pick-up truck struck two teenagers who were riding a motorized scooter in St. Paul. The collision took place around 9 a.m. at the intersection of Ohio and George streets. The two teens were taken to Regions Hospital, where the driver of the scooter, a 14-year-old boy, sadly passed away. The passenger, a 13-year-old boy, sustained severe injuries. Authorities stated that preliminary findings suggest the boys may have disregarded a stop sign before the accident. The driver of the pick-up truck is cooperating with the investigation and was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs. The incident is currently under investigation.
