Tragic Losses for John Elway: Sister and Agent Die in Separate Incidents

Before being involved in a fatal golf cart accident that took the life of his friend and agent, Jeff Sperbeck, reports indicate that John Elway was already grieving the passing of his sister, Lee Ann Elway McCarthy. Lee Ann, who was 66 years old, lost her battle with pancreatic cancer on April 8 in Lake Forest, California. She leaves behind her husband, Tony, daughter Kylee, son Patrick, son-in-law Serge, and three grandchildren. Lee Ann was the eldest sibling of the Elway family, with John and his twin sister, Jana, who tragically passed away from lung cancer at 42 in 2002. Following Jana's death, Lee Ann was motivated to make a positive impact, eventually becoming a Registered Nurse and later delving into designing women's robes and knitting in her spare time. In another unfortunate turn of events, John Elway was driving a golf cart in La Quinta, California on April 26, when a crash occurred, causing severe head injuries to Sperbeck. Despite efforts to save him, Sperbeck passed away on April 30. The authorities are investigating the incident, and Elway has enlisted legal representation through attorney Harvey Steinberg. As a former NFL star and executive with the Denver Broncos, Elway expressed his deep sorrow over Sperbeck's passing, emphasizing the significant role his late friend played in his life and the lives of others.
