Tragic Lake Tahoe boating accident claims lives of Bay Area locals, including DoorDash executive

The recent tragic boating accident on Lake Tahoe during severe storms over the weekend claimed the lives of eight individuals. El Dorado County officials have now identified the victims, several of whom were from the Bay Area. Most of the victims were in their 60s and 70s, with four belonging to the same family. The birthday celebration was for Paula Bozinovich, 71, from Redwood City, her husband Terry Pickles, 73, and son Josh Pickles, 37, both from San Francisco, who also lost their lives. Along with them, the family's uncle, Peter Bayes, 72, of Lincoln, Calif., also perished. Additional victims included friends Timothy O'Leary, 71, from Auburn, Calif., Theresa Giullari, 66, James Guck, 69, and Stephen Lindsay, 63, all from Upstate New York. The surviving son of one of the deceased expressed deep sorrow for the losses and mentioned that the group had been looking forward to a joyful time on the lake. The tragedy has deeply impacted not only the families involved but also the broader community. The boat accident took place during a rare summer thunderstorm that brought strong winds and waves to Lake Tahoe, resulting in the capsize of a 27-foot Chris-Craft vessel.
